So check it. I was listening to someone the other day and he was talking about how everyone has been marked by generosity from someone else. How true. Whether its big things or little things, when someone is generous to us, we tend to remember it. He went on to a scripture from 2Corinthians 9:15-- Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift. Indescribable as something that you cant put into words. The incredible gift of Salvation. 3 points i would like to mention...
1. We didn't ask for it
--When it comes to salvation we didnt ask for it, now some will say that yeah i said the prayer and did this and that etc...but God came up with the idea not us...its not like we said God, hey God, i got an idea, why dont you rescue me from a meaningless life or hey God, why dont you heal me form the pain of my past...
Ephesians 2:5-9-- For it is by grace you've been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves. It is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast.
2. We didnt deserve it
--Romans 6:23-- "For the wages of sin is death" wage is something you earn..." but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
--Everybody dies, but not everybody has to go to hell. Death is eternal separation from God.
--God gave a gift we didnt deserve.
--God is not a taker but a giver. A generous God.....John 3:16 will tell what God gave.
3.He gave it anyway
--Most people when they see someone they have never met will say they dont like them...why?? maybe its because how they dress or they walk funny... Kinda the same thing people say about God...There are some people who say they dont want anythng to do with God but they dont take the time to know him and investigate who he is.
--we are called to give
--We make a difference 1 life at a time.
